Come onnnn people!
I know I cancelled out....but I thought about it and I want to go! I wanted a lot of people there, but it is an opportunity to meet two really great women and Katt's man too
I hope pete will change his mind and decide to go, but I promised to give the children a nice vacation and I am not going to let them down. Maybe I'll take them to Sea World if nobody else commits...

I am sad....I took the days off and the kids were excited...the castle sounded really cool too....

I wished I had known about this, too. What a fun area!!!

San Simeon is great; just south of there is Cambria, one of the more charming towns in California, and within an hours drive is the central wine area with some excellent varieties. (Sorry Napa lovers, but the Merlots from this area are far better!!!)

With the rising gas prices now, I can't even afford to drive to the store. Sorry Angel. Why don't y'all just come and stay at my house. We can pitch tents in the backyard.

I am stuck in the same bind. With gas costing a 3rd of my monthly income I am stuck at home.

Angel,

If you decide to do this next year, please give me a couple of month's advance notice (if possible) and I will try to join you. I may "camp" in one of the hotels at Moonstone Beach (just south of San Simeon).

Yes, start it early so you can have better choices without rushing to make decisions. By then, I may have time to do something with it.

Or maybe we can set up something at my beach house sometime.

Heck, we could have a Lake Conroe campout sometime. I have room for tents in my back yard and lots of car room and four toilets and two showers. Plus two extra bedrooms, and I could move everything around in the shed for more room if it should rain.

What is needed for these sorts of things is a convoy with gas sharing being the watchword. I'm all for a trip to the coast for a camping mission for a weekend with that sort of thing in mind - Would be nice to get about six or so folks together to split gas costs and hit the beach before summer is out ;>)

Guess I got here a little late.

But hey! You guys almost pulled it off!
I am sure it will work one of this days, not sure how with the economy and gas prices, but positive thought can create positive actions...Keep that energy up, it will happen!
