Here we go again! Time to celebrate Cinco De Mayo.If you have been to any of our parties, we hope to see you again. If you haven't you are missing out. We will have a contest for the best fiesta outfit. We always say dress to impress. That could be any where from jeans and a t-shirt or WOW !!!  What movie did you step out of. The important thing is to have fun. Besides...when do you get to dress up and have fun with it.

Cinco de Mayo is a date of great importance for the Mexican and Chicano communities. It marks the victory of the Mexican Army over the French at the Battle of Puebla. Althought the Mexican army was eventually defeated, the "Batalla de Puebla" came to represent a symbol of Mexican unity and patriotism. With this victory, Mexico demonstrated to the world that Mexico and all of Latin America were willing to defend themselves of any foreign intervention. Especially those from imperialist states bent on world conquest.
In the United States, the "Batalla de Puebla" came to be known as simply "5 de Mayo" and unfortunately, many people wrongly equate it with Mexican Independence which was on September 16, 1810, nearly a fifty year difference. Over, the years Cinco de Mayo has become very commercialized and many people see this holiday as a time for fun and dance. Oddly enough, Cinco de Mayo has become more of Chicano holiday than a Mexican one. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on a much larger scale here in the United States than it is in Mexico. People of Mexican descent in the United States celebrate this significant day by having parades, mariachi music, folklorico dancing and other types of festive activities.

Outlaw you can still pay cash for your room, if you want , you just need the credit card for them to hold the reservation for you. Its a good sized place and their were rooms still available the night of the last party.

Well, with the 50 cent raise I got, I might just pay cash for it! Still no word on my new visa card so, I guess its either american express or mastercharge as a replacement!

After last nights party , I am eager for this one too. I am having to manipulate around my work schedule to make this happen. Jacque the hostess of this party really gives it her all to make it happen, and its a great perk that this party is held at a hotel so you can party hard and be safe. Last night I was a designated driver, so I had to be a good girl. See you all next week.

If someone really gets trashed and can't afford or simply does'nt wish to pay for a hotel room. TJ that is a very nice gesture on your part , but as Fuchia says be exceedingly careful who takes you up on your offer. Most of the people at the parties will leave you nothing to fear, but its better to be safe then sorry. Please be sure to say hello when you get there.
Just a reminder to all attendees, be sure to sign the guest book and get a name tag when you get there. It helps to identify you as being with the singles group. Its a good ice breaker too, you know just who you are talking too. Jacque the hostess usually has raffle tickets to give out so be sure to get your ticket if she does. There are 98 people signed up for the party but there will likely be about 150 in attendance from past experience.
If you are drinking please be sure to have a designated driver if you are not staying at the hotel, you will want to remember this part with fondness, a DUI coast far more then a hotel room , not to mention you could lose your life or hurt or kill someone else. Be sensible and have an amazing time.

I will not forget this party anytime soon!
Here is a synopsis for those who could not attend!!!!
I arrived at the comfort Zone about 7:30 pm and it was pretty funny all the people that attended before were all more or less sitting in the same place as they did for the two previous parties.. so keeping with tradition I headed to my same table only to find it occupied by two very prim and proper looking ladies in their sixties. I somehow felt that would not appreciate having me and my friends as table mates so we chose a different table. Now it was time to people watch as more people arrived. There were the happy reunions with past party goers , and it was fun watching the newbies come in looking mighty nervous. I latched on to a few to help ease the butterflies. The band began to play and the dancing began...I swore before arriving that I would not be dancing tonight .. my knees were just way to sore.. I thought maybe a slow one at best. But it looked like everyone had dance fever.. and wouldent you know it.. I was asked to dance more times then ever.
The air conditioner was not at its best .. so we were all hot and sweaty singles before long.. thankfully the management brought out a huge industrial sized fan and we all took turns standing by it and cooling off. I considered jumping in the pool clothes and all.
I lost count of the wine and jello shots I was drinking.. and got Drunk.. EAngel said she has never ever seen me that ever and she has some good black mail material to use on me now. In spite of my intoxication I do recall most of the night.
Dynamite Kisser handed out his traditional roses and daisy's to the ladies and was his charming self. 
I must tell you about the Pinata.. Jacque had it chocked full of Condoms, KY Jelly, Extra Strength Tylenol for the morning after and candy. You had to see everyone scurrying to get their share.
There were hook ups and love connections and some very provocative dancing on the dance floor..I was kind of fascinated by the ball room dancers. There were after parties and parties after the after parties. I provided a show of public affection for all the masses to see darn wine made me do it I swear.
It looks like plans are being made to hold the next party at a location on the beach in Daytona... I think that would be very cool.
