South Florida, Come on out to a Mix, Mingle, and Meet Singles for an enjoyable, entertaining evening of Big Band Style and Swing Music. Saturday, May 19, 2007. 7:30 to Midnight! The party will be at "SHALL WE DANCE" 600 S Federal Highway, Deerfield Beach, FL 33441. If you haven't ever been to a vintage celebration for Armed Forces Day, this will be fun and entertaining. There will be a dance lesson at 7:30 for those of you who would like to learn a few steps around the dance floor. Social dancing will start at 8:30. The lesson is included in the cost of the $12 admission price. Vintage Attire is optional. SHALL WE DANCE is a non-smoking venue. Don't miss out on the fun.

Cindy this sounds like a really fun event. I use to spend alot time last year with my friends band "Dutch and his Bluesicians" They are an awesome they play Blues and R & B, Jump, Jive, Swing, Ballads, Boogie Woogie, Big Band, and roots Rock and Roll.
The music of Louis Jordan, Smiley Lewis, Fats Waller, Slim Gaillard, Cab Calloway, Fats Domino, and B.B. King, among many others, is featured, along with a selection of original tunes by Kid Dutch himself.
Where ever the blusicians played there were swing dancers and they were fascinating to watch. I took a lesson once , could not quite get it but had fun trying.I really wish that I could go, but I will be working that night

OK Gorgeous Cindy.......You have talked me into it !! I'm there !! Hopefully you or ANYone will be there to show me a few steps on the dance floor. I am in awe of those who are really good at "Swing" dance.
I'm not sure if I can round up any vintage attire......how about just showing up with my watch and shoes on ?? JUST A JOKE !!! I hope to see you all there and am looking forward to a great time.

Well, Frank, it should be easy to wpot you if you will be the only one who shows up in a Vintage Watch and Vintage Shoes! I'm sure there will be lots of pretty ladies there to help you get the "swing" of things! Look forward to meeting you there! Cindy

Oh, Dovestreasures! I'm sorry that you are working that night! Sounds like you have a great appreciation of music! We also dance at Shall We Dance every single Friday night, with the Lindy Hop Lesson and Blues Lesson starting at 7:30. Social Dancing will start around 8:45! You are welcome to join us any Friday night! I look forward to meeting you there even if it is a Friday night. No partner is needed, and we always have lots of people to dance with. Don't be a stranger, come on out!

Cindy I do love music and have so much respect for those who can dance.. I am glued to "Dancing with the stars" and cant wait for "So you think you can dance".. I am inspired to take some lessons even if I do have two left feet. Those of you that may be a bit shy about signing up for this take the plunge.. it really sounds like a fantastic event.. what better way to meet people then through Music and Dance. Cmon all you South Florida Folks that have been aching for an event.. now is your chance!

Oh Yes, Dovetreaures, I also love Dancing with the Stars! You'd think that if Billy Rae Cyrus can put himself on the line to take dancing lessons, that men would be knocking the doors down to learn to dance! Kudos to all those wonderful people who learned to dance for that show! You can imagine just how much fun and pleasure you get from dancing. Sorry you won't be able to make this one, but maybe next time! Cindy
