Yay!!
My understanding is ... Some people will be driving
and there will be couple of cars there...
so someone may be able to fetch us.
I assume as we get closer to the dates... arrival times
can be coordinated .. and maybe a few of us can
be retrieved on one trip.
yay!!! Another poker player!!!
The condos are about 2 - 2 1/2 miles from the
New York New York - Excalibur corner of the strip
and The Orleans Casino is less than 3/4 mile from
the condo!!!
AND Orleans has Texas Hold 'Em schedules...
We'll have to share cell phone numbers.
I had a bit of a nightmare that I was
at the Vegas airport & couldn't reach anyone.
I was trying to get MD on my laptop
but it wouldn't load up
aaarrrrrgghhh... I was so scared!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jen, I haven't even LOOKED for a ticket out there yet. And if I go, I MUST hit the Rio, of course! Orleans for a tournament sounds GREAT! (If the buy in isn't too much)

Excuse my double post. Jen, Orleans even has Omaha hi/low and I do know how to make a low hand! Buy ins aren't too bad either! Think I can tell what I'll be doing!

I'm hoping to Myst! It would be exciting to meet everyone under the Vegas lights and glitz! I know I want to play at least one tournament while I'm there (ok, I'll probably want to play more...)
Just hope I can get the time off of work!

Thanks, everybody!
I just started a new job (BLAH - it's not a good one!), but I'll see what I can do about showing up...it's only a 5-hour drive for me. I'm kinda bummed that I mised that Air Races: had made an attempt at relocating to the greater Reno area (well...preferably Fernley...) at the beginning of the month, but it didn't happen.  I guess the possible employers I spoke with didn't think I was serious.
(Psssst - Canyon...I'll be sure not to mention the C-word...)

Well...I've worked 4 out of the last 5 days, and I've put in nearly 49 hours!!! I'm supposed to be off tomorrow, but they asked that I call in around 0930 - maybe they'll have me come in. If they do, then maybe another 10 hours, and if I work Wednsday, then another 10-13...
It's a nice change after being unemployed for 2 months, and not getting a paycheck for the 6 weeks prior to that! (long story...) It'll be nice just to catch up on all the bills, and be able to burn a tank of gas just to drive around and look at scenery - and not worry about the gas for once!
I'm actually starting to like the work, too: I'm hauling feed to the local dairies, and fertilizer for farms...it's interesting to see how those places are run. But, the days are too long! Then, there's the flies...We use these really cool trailers that have conveyor belts in the center of the floor for unloading: I can empty out 52,000lbs of cargo in 5 minutes! Pretty cool, if you're into such things.
I'm going to put in a request for the days off in question, and that way, if I can make it, I'll be there!!!

I personally called the resort about shuttle service to and from the airport. Unfortunately, they do not have this service.

We will be driving. Plus, some rent cars too. If people can cordinate arrival time close enough, then no problem. Actually, if someone comes, we will make sure they are picked up one way or another,,
