Camping would be fine, but I have no camping equipment.

And no Bill or Clock, I'm not sharing yours.

Well looks like I am gonna have to beg off too. Boss told me this morning that he has no one to replace me. Good news is it means I am irreplaceable. Sorry, had to throw in a bit of humor.

Looks like it is down to just me, clock and cowgirl.

Maybe we should just switch gears to plan for a camping trip. What do you guys think?

Girls, as for camping equipment, I have a collection of tents, (part of how I got my name, ha, ha) though some may need to be re-waterproofed. I do have this one, though, that I seldom use because it takes a couple of people, at least, and a little work, to put up. It is a HUGE cabin tent, two bedrooms - complete with closets and bay windows, a 'living room'(enclosed or screened) with a storage loft, sky lights, and all kinds of goodies. Just a thought, but maybe we girls could share it. Only way I can go for a whole weekend, though, is if I am close to home and can drive back and forth (once a day), but I will at least come for a day if everyone choses somewhere further.

Still trying to figure out how to condense my camping equipment down to the backseat of my scooter.

The only way I could go will be on a weekend also. I have very little vacation time saved up and one of these days I want a REAL vacation....on a beach. Sand, sun, ocean....you can't beat that!

The reason I am no trying to come is I have a small dog (YorkiePoo) and don't have any place to leave him. At least not anyone I would trust with him. I got him when he was a baby and he is not use to being with anyone but me.

I have a lot of camping stuff, too. Could never get it all to the lake at once.
I have a porta-potty, too but haven't used it for camping. One of my tempermental kids kept peeing on the bathroom floor (for spite). I kept telling him he better quit or I was going to give him his own bathroom (and I told him what kind, ). He just said, "You can't come in with me and you can't make me stop." Soooo.....

the next time he did it..........

we made a trip to Wal-Mart. I went right to the camping section, grabbed a porta-potty and plopped it into the cart. His eyes got soooo BIG and he said, "I didn't think you were serious!" We came home, I emptied out part of a shed back behind our house, set it up. showed him how to clean it and put the chemicals in it each week, and said, "there, now you have what other kids dream of, your own bathroom."

He tried to "get me in trouble" by spilling the beans to the counselor. His counselor just looked at him and said, "Aren't you glad it isn't winter!"
He then looked at me and said, "keep up the creativity." It was a loooong walk up that hill when you really had to go. .

Anymore, when I go camping by myself, if my van is up to it, I just make a bed in my middle seat, toss in a backpack with a few essentials and off I go. Leaves a lot more time for enjoying nature and some free time.

Yes, in a round-about way we did. It got down to just me and cowgirlteacher. Everyone else had to cancel for one reason or another. We decided to all cancel, since it was just the two of us left and we see each other every week, and I decided to go ahead and work. To shorten a much longer story, cowgirlteacher and another friend (planning on joining MD) dropped by my store to visit a few minutes. They ended up going to get Chinese take-out for all of us, since we had planned on eating together that day anyway, we figured we would just have it here in my break room. We got two other MD'ers on speaker phone for a little while, and we had our little get-together, though kinda impromptu, for a couple of hours in my break room. It was nice and we had a lot of laughs. All we needed was a deck of cards. May have to try something more simple like this again, but with a deck or cards and/or dominoes.

Well from the posts I would say our next one should be a camping trip. If I might suggest, before it turns blistering hot in the day time?

Hey Guys!
I am only averaging one day a month off right now and seem to already have things scheduled all the way up into August, but I AM DYING FOR A CAMPING TRIP! So I decided I better "schedule" one. I studied my calendar (yea, I know, that is just too busy) and the first time I have open, that isn't a holiday weekend, is June 21st.......So, transportation permitting (mine broke yesterday, it won't start)...and if my hand heals up pretty good by then (started Easter off by falling outside and breaking it real good - can't just drive my scooter because it is my right hand).....I will be going tent camping at Sequoyah Bay State Park on Ft.Gibson Lake on June 21st. If anyone wants to join me or make it an MD Get-together, that would be great! (this one-handed typing is the pits)
