Hey, guys! I am still planning on a one day/night camping trip about June 21st, barring any major complications, and that seems to be a daily thing for me, lol. I hope some of you all are going to get to join me. I may have to figure out how to condense all of my camping gear onto my scooter since my van has refused to drive another inch. Trying to empty it out now so that I can attempt to sell it for a little more than scrap. My mechanic just can't figure out what is wrong with it this time and I give up. I am shopping for a new vehicle (I HATE car shopping!!!!! Looking for something preferrably under $3000, gets as close to 30mpg as possible, is an automatic, has space in the back to lug around junk, and runs reliably. I know, that is a TALL order.)
I borrowed a car and took myself out for a drive to Sequoyah Bay State Park Monday afternoon. I had planned on sitting at a table and eating my hamburger, enjoy and hour off. BUT.......... all the tables were under water. Only the portable ones sitting in a stack were left out. No one was camped out there. I am sure hoping and praying the water will be down by that third weekend of June. I am soooo ready for a day off at the lake.
Okay, I am going to "send" this before it shuts me off. I have ordered the part (someone at Lenovo finally tracked it down.) and it has been shipped. I will catch up with all you fun, ornery people when it is working right again, . Have a terrific weekend.

Tent, my car that got murdered was a Kia Spectra. It got great gas millage and had a large hatch in the back. If you folded down the seats, you could get lots and lots of stuff back there. Mine was a 2000 and I paid $3000.00.

Tent not to worry about the lake levels. The corp of engineers always lets the lake level go way up in the spring. This makes the crappy spawn in the grassy areas so the corp can then drop the lake and expose the eggs. As far as hauling your camping gear out to the lake. I bet ya got a friend with 2 trucks that might, I say might, haul your gear out for the right reward. (Alright mom and spirit I am talking some bacon gravey. Women have such dirty minds! )

BILL!!! I retired from the Corps. It isn't the Corps that makes the decision on lake levels except in extreme emergencies...its the Southwest Power Administration! They really screwin up my crappie fishin this year, too.

Mom, thanks for the suggestion on the car. I wasn't familiar with those and looked for some in a bargain post. That looks like just what I need, either that or a small pick-up, but something like that might work better. I am keeping my eyes open for one, but every time I find one, it is way off in another town. I guess the right one will pop up when it is suppose to. Thanks again, a bunch! Oh, yes, can you teach me how to shoot that machine gun? Shall we go to Clock's to find some targets to practice on?
Bill, do you really think it will take two trucks to haul all of my camping junk to the lake? Actually, you might be right, lol. When my kids were small, I took all kinds of stuff with us. Now that it is just me, I pack pretty light. Oh, yes, I see on here that you are taking a Serta to sleep on. Guess it will take one truck just for that. How big is that Serta? Are you planning on sharing or making the rest of us sleep on the rocks? I may take you up on that offer (the trucks). Just can't figured out yet how to get my pillow on that scooter. But with all the talk about a "Serta" and a "reward" I better be careful what I am getting myself into.
