Okay all of you in the Muskogee, OK area or anywhere near here, anyone that will be passing through, or anyone that just wants to make the trip. Let's try this again..... Muskogee is once again hosting a free Blue Grass festival. A few of us MD'ers and other Muskogee area singles are going to it together and I hope many more of you can join us. A few of us went to the last one on the spur of the moment earlier this summer and it was great! This time it is suppose to be even bigger and better with more bands than ever. There are also jam sessions for anyone that wants to bring their own instruments. Last time I was pleasantly surprised at how good the jam session was and I especially enjoyed watching the little boy, whose guitar was as big as he was, playing as seriously as the big boys. The music and singing are terrific and you can't help but leave with that "feel good" feeling that lasts for days. It will be held outdoors unless the weather is bad (then it will move inside to the arena). Concessions will be available. And since it starts so early in the day and runs well past the dinner hour, I think a picnic is in order. I am posting the information below. If you have any questions, just ask. And please give any suggestions you have. I can always edit this.
WHAT: Blue Grass On The Square WHERE: Muskogee Civic Assembly Center - outside (Market Square) 5th & Okmulgee DATE: Saturday, October 4th, 2008 TIME: 3:00pm - but they started early last time and if they start at 3, you might want to get there early to get a good spot. Course, you can come at any time up until the end. BRING: Your own chair, blanket if you wish, jacket would be a good idea, drinks if you don't want to purchase them there (NO alcoholic beverages allowed, sorry), your own instrument if you so desire (or just enjoy everyone else as I will be doing), wet wipes might be a good idea as there was no place to wash hands last time, AND.... Your own, individual, picnic dinner that we will all try to eat together.
This is a really enjoyable event. I hope that many of you can make it. See you there!

Thanks, Bill. I had gotten my info direct from they guy putting the whole thing together and had jotted down notes, then he sent me the flyer to send out to people in our group. It took so long to download that I had just skimmed over it while I was working. I will make an edit in this post. Thanks!
Cruise, there will be plenty of grass after my goats "mow" it. In fact, they will cut it down to a very comfortable length........you just have to watch out for all the "berries" they leave when you are trying to sit down. I hope your surgery goes well.

Oh okay Tent...I forgot about the berries. Thanks for the reminder!
Thanks...I hope the surgery goes well, too. The surgeon told me Monday that even with the 2 procedures they are doing the 26th I won't regain 100% usage of my hand so I am a bit depressed about that but guess I have to accept whatever I get now. No more milkin chickens and feedin the cows

Well now Tent, today is yer lucky day! I happen to be running my TV special on the 'Lern How to Milk Yer Chickens in only 99 easy lessons' video. Available in 8 mm tape or kassette cartridge. Now for only $19.99 down and $19.99 a month for 365 months, you can be the first one in Muskogee to have your very own copy.
And, the very best thing about it is when yer done with all 99 lessons, you get a certificate of downright authenticity declaring that you TentFire, are now a graduate of the Kansas State Institute for Milkin Chickens Research, which also includes a certificate (suitable for framing of course) from the Department of Mental Social Studies and the Commission of Public Indecency and Lewd Acts (with appropriate unofficial seal). Also included in this exta special one time offering will be an 8x10 glossy of you personally in the act of milkin yer very first chicken (photo suitable for framing of course).
Now if you'll jest write yer check out to me, to include the 39.95 shipping and handling fee, I'll get you enrolled and have yer very own 8 mm tape or yer very own Kassette tape in the mail within the month. That priority shipping option is available for only 24.95 additional cost. So don't waste time here, we are sellin out quick Tent. Hurry now start writin that check...come on hurry up I'm a busy man

Hot diggety dogs!! I can't wait! I'm writin', I'm writin' just as fast as I can. I have two whole boxes of checks left from when my purse got stolen and I had to close out my account so I will save them just for paying you each month. I am sure there must be at least 365 of them left. They even have perty pictures on them so you will get an added bonus each month.
Gosh I just can't wait, milking my chickens, and I have so many of them I will be able to open a dairy. Just think, instant chicken gravy........just add thickener and heat! Won't that be a time-saver for the holidays................

Looks like it is going to be a perfect day for it! Saturday is suppose to be a high of only 80 and partly cloudy. That's my kinda weather.....T-shirt by day, light long sleeve by night. Sally, we will, I certainly plan to. If I don't forget my camera I will take pictures again, too.
