Thanks Red, that was easy. I am kind of a DS when it comes to this computer world!! It was a good idea. I hope others post that they are coming. I wrote a few others to let us know if they were coming or not. We kinda need to know how many may attend.

Is anyone interested in a potluck/buffet sort of thing? I am not good at this sort of thing, but I thought some of the nice ladies coming might be able to help on it. I would be glad to help. If no one is interested, we can forget it. I just thought it would be one way of meeting every one.
Joy Monger Jim, what do you think about it? Think we need it/or forget it??

Hi, Phil --
I'm happy to go along with whatever the gang is up to! Potlucks seem like a natural thing to do when people get together. I'm amazed at how magically they (almost) always seem to work out, even without planning and assigned dishes! Every once in a while it turns out to be six salads and no bread, or a whole lot of wine and ice cream! But most often, just announcing that there'll be a potluck at a certain time and place, everything seems to work out!
(Oops -- maybe I shouldn't have given such graphic, specific examples. Now just wait ... NObody will bring salad, or wine, or ice cream, but we'll have LOTS of bread.) On second thought, how 'bout assigning some dishes?

I am thinking that maybe just a little hot dog roast would be easier, and a lot less hassle rather than assigning dishes. Also, the things needed for it could be picked up on a store run, should it be decided that we as a group want to do such a thing...we could take up a collection and who ever wants to volunteer to do a store run could do so instead of contributing cash. But like Jim, I am willing to go with whatever the group wishes.
Also, it has become clear that I need to clarify what I meant by Adult play time...I simply meant that in order to keep this light and playful for singles, it is best that children should not attend... Wholesome and clean, a safe and comfortable environment for everyone, Gentlemen behaving like gentlemen, Ladies behaving like ladies...get my drift?

^^^^ Glad to read that clairification. Single events don't really mean romance in my mind. Just that those that get together, happen to be single. Same thoughts?

Thank you!!! Romance does not necessarily mean having to do with love...a sense of adventure and all, that was my meaning.

Hey, everybody --
Don't fail to bring your musical instruments, your drums, your voice and your dancing feet to the campout -- we'll make noises like have never been heard before!

I, too, would be interested to know if there was a "day-trip only" thing available for those of us who a) have no camping gear at this point in their lives, b) can't take a day off work, or c) are really *desperately* broke and are saving every dime they can towards tuition. Not that I'm implying anything, these are strictly hypothetical situations...
Also (and I mean no offense!) it seems like I'd be significantly younger than most of the folks there...
Nonetheless, I admire and salute you for the effort you've put in!

I sent out invites to people of all age groups, including you , it is Still early...People are checking their schedules and figuring out if they can make it. Also, funkystylez you can invite anyone who is single, on this site, other sites or not on any site Of course people can show for just the day, or one night or two...But, we need to know if say you will be there Friday night when we plan to do the kite building because we'll need to know if we have enough materials. If you do come for just a day, you shouldn't have any trouble finding some of us as we are asking people to make signs or banners as artsy or not as they wish with their online names on them to put at their camp. As far as not having gear and such, maybe you could find others who would be interested in pooling gear between you. But, you will have to bring food, we may have a potluck or hot dog roast, but the bulk of feeding you is on you. If you have any other questions feel free to ask, I hope that you can make it!

As a matter of fact that reminds me of something that I have been meaning to bring up. To defer traveling expenses (Gas), since we have people coming from all over the state, car pooling would be a good idea...These forums are great tools for that kind of thing, finding people in your area, and there is time to spend some online time chatting and getting to know each other a bit.

Hello everyone that is going to the Oregon Singles Campout, I have a few questions. I live in Oregon too and I went to the website for the State parks and at this state park it says tent sites are first come first serve bases. Does that mean that there is no charge for the site and that you need to get there early to find a good spot? Because like I have a 15X9ft tent and would like to have water and electic somewhere to fill up my mattress. I don't lay on the ground in any campground. If you can answer these questions for me that would be great and if not I will give the park a call and let everyone else know that needs that information too. I hope it works out, would like to come and meet new people. Oceanblue48

I just got my computer up and running, and was glad to see I haven't missed the get together. I may just be a non-camping participant, as I don't have my camping stuff here and haven't camped in a long time. I live just south of Florance now. I love Oregon! What beautiful country and friendly people! Looking forward to meeting everyone. I will try to round up a few other people to attend from here.

Welcome Trueblue, glad you can make it!
Oceanblue, yes there is a fee on a tent site $17.00, there is water and Hot showers... as far as blowing up your mattress I'm sure that someone will have an air pump...huh guys??? Some of us are going on Thursday and we will try to save some spots, but if you are picky about your site then yes you should probably get there early...But, one of the reasons that I picked this campground was because it was first come first serve. We have a better chance of all getting into the same campground, believe me!
