You know I feel the need to say this...There Is No One In Charge Of This Campout...Jim and I are just spearheads, meaning we were needed to get this thing rolling and we are just trying to give some guidelines to start building a great experience from.
IF you Don't like grilled pizza, shishkabobs or Whatever, then Don't eat it... IF you Don't want to build a kite, then Don't build one... IF you Don't want to go down to the beach for Whatever reason, Don't go... IF you Don't want to wear a name tag (I most likely will not), then Don't... You want to be a camp sitter, BE one... You want to be a beach bum (I fall into this one), BE one... You want to be a kite flying Fool...By All Means, BE one... You want to be a baking, cooking whiz, YEAH We Will Cheer You On!!!
BUT, PLEASEpleaseplease DO NOT moan, groan, complain or do the poor me thing... because YOU make this Experience What It IS. And, frankly...Redwicket does not want to hear it! I want to have FUN!!!

Well stated Red. This is not a competition for who is in charge. I for one am grateful for all the work that Red and Jim have done. Without their initiative this would not be happening. They picked up the ball, give them some credit.
For those who are still complaining; maybe this isn't a weekend that you should participate in. Remember this is a dating site and what you post tells us a lot about you.

Yep!...What Red, and ENFP said. I too am going there just to have fun, and meet some of the Oregon people from MD. Whether I build a kite...fly a kite..eat hot dogs, or shishabobs..sit around the camp, or be a beach bum is irrelevant. I'm there to enjoy myself period. ENFP is right. This is a dating site, and indeed what you post here will say a lot about just what kind of person you are.

I am glad you posted that Redwicket. I don't know why anyone would post anything negative. This whole experience is going to be whatever we make it be. Each to their own, go with the flow, don't sweat the small stuff, are all saying that seem to fit this experience. Personally, I am just happy to meet some new people, and I plan to enjoy everyone and everything!

Ok everyone, if you have RSVPd you will be receiving a friend request from me, that way I can post bulletins on your home page...you can do this too by sending requests to everyone listed in this thread. I have contacted Matchdoctor and suggested that when there is an event that RSVPs go automatically into a friend group so this can be done easily...but for now I had to send them out

I talked with my g/f who is in Slovakia ( central Eutope ) on vacation today, and asked her if she would like to come along..She told me that she would love to if her schedule allows. She is really a neat person, and I believe you will all find her very friendly.

Did everyone get the bulletin on their home page? If you don't know where to look it's on the left side under your picture, a blue box that says My Bulletin Board...

I just finished reading a blog where the person says that she is going to cut the MD strings and leave this site because she has been spending all of her time here, and she needs "Real Time" and "Real Life"...
Well, this online environment is a safe one, but it doesn't have to be a Fantasy or Fake one... This Campout Is a chance to Bring Online into Real Life!
Online Singles Sites were not meant to be Fantasy Games...But to help lonely (for whatever reason) people connect with each other in order to live Life to the fullest.
You can sit at your computer night after night pretending to participate in Life and Let it pass you by.
OR, you can jump right in (you know the waters fine ) and Scoop up as much Summer fun as you can...Come out camping, have the right Expectations that you will meet a group of people who WANT to meet you, WANT to get to know you and become your Friend in Whatever Capacity that may work out to be.
If there are road blocks keeping you from joining in with us in Life, voice them, Maybe someone else can solve them for you...Maybe you can be the solution to each others road blocks...And Come Out Camping

Good points Red! More need to get involved. No use cutting off MD. I have convinced a few not to do that. This is a chance to get a life off the computer for many. Just DO IT!!
