i don't have room in the car for my grill....but i have room in my life for some fun
i think, with this being camping it will be hard to "find" our gathering spot. the place where everyone seems to congregate.
this being the oregon coast and no reservations at this campground. is it going to be hard for everyone to find a place? i used to live in astoria.

I have no idea how to use a camp oven or a dutch oven, but I am more than curious by nature and would love to stand by and watch........or help......or snoop.....or throw some sugar and flour around............
I could bring my challah bread. Makes for wonderful french toast.

Camp oven isn't hard to use at all, it basically is a metal box that sits on top of one of the burners on your camp stove. And it works just like what it is a little oven, makes wonderful biscuits, and they smell so good baking outside when camping. A dutch oven I am still learning is very versatile...can bake a cake, roast apples, make stew or casseroles in it...on & on. You put coals under it and the lid has a lip to hold coals on the top turning it into a little oven.

I'm really hoping that things go well that I can keep plans for the camp out. Someone can use my tent. It's a dome but I have to sleep diaganal to fit in it so some one else may be able to use it. I just sleep in the back of the truck under the camper shell with a matress in the back. I may get there on the 2nd because the 3rd will be a day that the camp grounds in that area will probably start filling up fast. Although if it is full there are other camp grounds close enouph by where the get to gethers would not be a problem with for me.They usually have over flow parking for visitors with no charge. That camp ground I'm not sure. Never been there. Just the Tugman and light house state park south of reeds port not far from that one. I will do my best to socialize and keep my mind off of the fishing as much as I can but when I am over there my fishing instincts or addiction to fishing kind of peaks. lol This sounds like alot of fun but I'm not to sure about the kite flying thing but I will due my best to participate. It will probably be good for me to do something different. Hey is it ok if I go get one of those easy put together kites for kids? lolol I don't mean to sound boring or nothing but I'm also looking for this trip to meet new friends and yes it is something new for me and I think it will be good for me and others. Can't wait to meat everyone. See you there.

Hey MountainMan, as posted already there aren't any rules as to how much you have to, or should participate...but you have a very healthy idea there about trying something out of your comfort zone. That in my opinion is how we truely grow as people. Anyway, Thank you...There Are other parks IF we have to expand, and if that becomes necessary there is a Bulletin Board where you first come into Carl Washburne, so Look on it to see if we have posted any Information Everyone when you come in. It's almost Camping Time!!! I'm getting Excited...

Hi Redwicket,
I learned about the campout on plentyoffish. Talked to a friend there and she told me about it.
I think its a great idea and would like to attend. I don't know if I could go for the whole thing though.
My big question is does the park allow dogs? I want to bring my best friend. Some parks around Troutdale area don't allow any dogs at all.
So August 4 and 5? I have that weekend off so I could probably attend. I don't want to RSVP because I don't know if I can absolutely be there. If I stay overnight I would probably get a motel or something.
Although I can't make a committment once ther I would be glad to help with what ever physically or monetarily for food or what ever. I look forward to your response. Thanks Jimmice

Yes, dogs are allowed but they must be on a leash and the park provides poo bags, the owner is responsible for picking it up

Say Redwicket you know more about the area of that campground than I do. Is there crabbing areas close by? I think it would be cool to have crab during the get together. I have my crab stamp but have yet to use it. I've only crabbed in Crescent City California where it is really good. I have a secret spot down there. I'm looking for the good spots over there on the coast. I know there are plenty of lakes near by for the fishing. I've only fished the Eeel Lake which is great trout fishing. Have not bassed it yet but people tell me it is good. The picture of the me and the fish is just south of where the get together is being held. Not far at all. I've been wanting to try out the 10 mile lake as well. There is alot of good fishing near by. I guess if I get there early and that is hopefully nothing comes up preventing me to going which is really doubtfull I'll try to put a sign "mountain man" in front of my camp space. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone as well. I'm sure it will be fun. Take care.
