Hey -- I'm gettin' excited! It's just a few days away now!
Justy -- I didn't set a time for the Saturday potluck picnic, and nobody else suggested a time either, but I was thinking early afternoon. What do you think? I'm planning to be there early in the day, though, or, like Lovinheart, maybe Friday.
Great, Sybnann, that you're bringing 2 others! Yeah, if we each brought one or two, and each of them brought one or two ... we might overwhelm the State Park!
Well, the weather forecast sounds fine! Daytime temperatures are likely to be in the mid-90s -- warmest days so far this year! And nights in the 50s -- perfect!
See you all very soon!
-- Jim

I have a question. How will we find each other? Will there be signs? Is there a certain "area" of the park we will meet?
Well i guess it will be three questions!!! LOL
See you guys!! Drive safely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm -- yes, Sybnann, I guess a lot of the ideas we've discussed are kinda scattered through the thread. I'll try to consolidate the best and most important into the original announcement message with an "update."
But to answer your questions directly: Redwicket, who did most of the planning for last year's campout (but won't be able to join us for this one) had a great idea for a way to find each other -- each camp would make a banner of some kind to decorate the entrance to their site, with their MD screen name(s). We could do that again, but some of us may only be there for the day of the picnic, so to mark our location for that, I'll bring my banner from last year. It's actually a long skinny kite, in rainbow colors, that says "JoyMonger Jim" at the top. I'll drape it in the trees or on shrubs or something. You can look for that in the campground (if I get there on Friday) and/or in one of the two Day Use areas on Saturday. The Day Use areas are both located to the right of the highway Rest Area rest rooms. Exercise a little creativity and make a banner for yourself! Or a funny hat or a T-shirt with your screen name printed boldly on it! We'll find each other!
As for who's bringing what, Jessie/Justy, you're the only one who has said, and nobody else even asked, so I assume everybody got the spirit of my initial suggestion to "bring whatever you need and something to share." We all get to enjoy surprises that way, and there should be plenty! (I hope we don't all avoid bringing the stuff planned by all those imaginary folks you named!) Yep, I agree -- whatever we're lacking, we'll make up for by just having fun! Looking forward to meeting!

Sorry you can't make it Phil..I have decided to be there Friday around 1-2 in the afternoon.. My exgirlfriend is going to stop by around 4. The reason for her stopping by is so I can return something to her.Don't be surprised if you see us hugging on one anouther. We may be exlovers, but we are still very good friends.
I am going to bring a watermelon, and potatoe salad for the pot luck. If anyone knows what else I can bring please let me know. It's going to be pretty warm there Friday-Sat, around high 90's, but it should be nice at the park.
I'll check in again later before I leave..Oh, btw...I was thinking about bringing along some fishing gear, but trout season doesn't open till the 24th. Hmmmm...Maybe Monday I'll head up to the Lost Creek dam and try my hand.

Well, it's all in the bag now! Today (and/or tomorrow and the next day) is the day!
Sorry you can't spend the weekend with us, Phil, but good luck with your tourney, and do try to stop in -- we want to meet you!
Great that you'll be there early to greet us, Lovinheart! Thanks for the tip on fishing season.
My own plan at this point is to get there some time Friday afternoon and hang out for a while, then head home for the night, to gather whatever last-minute provisions we might discover we need or be inspired to want. Then I'll be back some time Saturday morning, maybe to camp that night. I'll bring along the tabletop grill and propane, and mundane stuff like paper towels and aluminum foil, and some paper plates and cups and plasticware -- oh, and drinking water.
I hope to see all your personal banners flying proudly! See you all very soon!

I hope all you people are having a good time!! Two weeks wasn't much time to prepare, but it seems to be working out.
Well as far as the regionals, our team won last night 3-1. We are part way to Vegas in august for the nationals. We play again at 10:00 today.
None of you at the Campout will read this until you get home.
Hope you are having a great time!

Success!
Sorry you diidn't get there, Phil, but it sounds like you made the right choice! Congratulations on the win -- I hope you'll make it to the Nationals!
And the picnic/campout was a success too! Two campsites were occupied on Friday night, with tents still being erected at 10 pm! We all found each other just fine. And more people arrived on Saturday morning -- we had a crowd of 10 all together!
Lovinheart was the first to arrive, around 3 pm on Friday. JoyMongerJim showed up about 7; Justy brought a carload of family and friends, arriving after dark, and Sybnann brought a friend and her mother on Saturday. We all had a fine, bountiful picnic together!
Let's do it again! Who's up for the next one?

Start planning the next meeting!!
